The Paper Section groups economic operators (the SPP corporate members) manufacturing pulp, paper and cardboard. Members are represented in the Section by persons managing economic operators or persons authorized by the management.
The Section’s purpose is to represent the interests of members to the Government and local organizations, to analyze current and future problems important for pulp, paper and cardboard manufacturers and to exchange information.
In 2012 the Section grouped 11 SPP supporting members. The Board of Directors consists of chairmen or directors of member companies.
The section’s activities include:
- representation of members’ interests to governmental administration ad local economic institutions
- international co-operation including participation in CEPI standing committees
- legislation monitoring and popularization of EU standards and regulations
- lobbying activities for the benefit of the industry in Poland and on the European level (through CEPI)
- evaluation of current and future problems for pulp, paper and bard industry and exchange of information
- collection and processing of the industry statistics on the paper industry and data distribution in Poland and abroad
- participation in the legislation process in order to secure raw materials for pulp and paper production (wood and recovered paper)
- collection of materials and views to work out a common position on raw materials, energy, environmental protection, working conditions, customs, tax policies, etc.
- coordination over the Project on „The Integrated Permits for the Paper Industry” and “The Monitoring of the Environmental Law”
A current supervision over the Section’s activities is held by the Board of Directors. Within the period between the Board of Directors’ meetings, Section’s activities are supervised by the Presidium.
The Section’s activities are financed according to the approved budget for a given year. Members pay annual fees, which amount depends on the scheduled activities.
In addition, proportionally the paper and board output, members pay fees which refund the fee paid by SPP to CEPI
